BEFORE THE EXAM
Suitable location to sit the exam
You may sit your exam anywhere where you are guaranteed to have a quiet space free from distractions and disturbances. This could be at home, in the office, or in a quiet library.
It is your responsibility to ensure that you are in a quiet location for the duration of the exam. You should be in a location where other people will not be roaming around behind you. This is something to keep in mind if testing in a shared office.
Steps to activate your web camera
1. Make sure the light on your web camera is off.
If the light on your web camera is on, close any application that may use your web camera. This includes the software that comes with your webcam, as well as closing Skype or similar video calling applications.
2. Click the OK button on the viewer to the right.
This should activate the web camera, you should see yourself in the viewer to the right and the light on your web camera should now be on.
If your web camera light is on, but you don't see yourself in the viewer to the right, please check again that you have closed all applications that may use a web camera and try again.
3. Check the picture visibility
Please take the exam in a room with plenty of light, so that your face is clearly visible. The most important tip is to NOT have a bright light or window behind you. If your face looks like either of the invalid pictures below, please move to a location with better lighting.
IMPORTANT: DURING THE EXAM
Please ensure that you are facing the camera, you are captured on the web camera from the neck upwards and the picture is not too dark, otherwise your exam may be invalid.
